Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten

Kindergarten is the first year of formal education which begins at the age 5 to 6. Kindergarten is the vital part of a child's success in first grade. Students complete language arts and math lessons daily. When students leave kindergarten, they are expected to know the names of all letters (upper and lowercase), letter sounds, how to blend and segment simple words, write sentences, identify & write numbers 1 through 20, count objects up to 20, and add and subtract numbers 1 through 10

Kindergarten Academic Program

Based on what we know about children's brain development during these crucial years, pre-k has become just as necessary as kindergarten or first grade. In pre-k, the children become familiar with books, beginning English vocabulary and ways to use this language, numbers and problem solving strategies. They also learn the social skills they need the most out of school - how to pay attention in class and interact with peers.
