Summer Camp

This year’s summer camp will feature two programs. In the morning, students will receive ESL instruction to improve their English language proficiency. While the students will not become fluent in two weeks, we believe that the immersive English environment will help improve pronunciation, increase vocabulary, and build confidence in our students. ESL instruction will focus on the four essential skills to learning a language: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

In the afternoon, each student will receive one hour of instruction in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). STEM education is a fun way for students to learn how things work. It is based on a project-based learning (PBL) model, where students are given an important question to answer using their creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Through PBL, students research the problem, work with their friends to find solutions, and then share their results using a method of their choosing. As you can see, STEM gives our students confidence and important 21st century skills. And, they will have a great time doing it!

We are confident that this year’s summer camp will be a very rewarding experience for our students.

Cost: $650 USD includes materials and lunch.

Art is an extremely important tool in child development. It helps develop motor skills, creativity, inventiveness, visual learning, decisiveness, and cultural awareness. Research also shows that art can increase academic achievement; students that study art at least three hours a week or more likely to receive awards for math, science, poetry and essays (Source: PBS Parents, 2017). Art can even help English language proficiency as students often discuss their work with others.

Students that join our art program will have an exciting time learning art skills while being given an opportunity to showcase their talent. On the final day of summer camp, students will have a chance to display their work as part of our art expo, where they will talk about their creations with visitors.

Note: Students must be proficient in the English language to join the art program.

Robotics is a fun skill for children to have as it gives them an opportunity to create something that follows their directions. However, robotics is quickly becoming recognized as an important skill for children as it encourages higher-level thinking, innovation, and problem-solving. Robotics is so important that it is becoming a school requirement in countries around the world. While we do not require it here at St. Paul, it is easily one of the most popular activities in our Beyond (after-school) program.

Our robotics program will teach students basic robotic-building and programming skills. It will end with a robotics show on the last day of school, where students will be able to share their creations with others.

Note: Students must be proficient in the English language to join the robotics program.

Cost: $650 USD includes materials and lunch.
