LIBRARY

The school library provides a model for inquiry learning and building knowledge and confidence in seeking and processing information. Everyone is encouraged to visit the library where they may browse our multi collections of 18,000 reading books. Students can also acquire all academic textbooks from the library.

* Opening time: Library - Media Center is opened from 7.45 am to 5.00 pm every school day and closed on Saturdays, Saturdays as well as school holidays.

* Rules:

- Use a quiet voice. No loud talking or other distract behavior.

- Speak only English.

- No books or other library properties maybe taken from the library at any time without the librarian's permission.

- No running and/or horse-playing. Keep hands, feet and objects to self.

- Book bags and backpacks must be left outside.

- Take care of all library media center materials.

- Leave food and drink outside.

- Print from computers only when permitted.

 - Listen and follow directions from all library media center staff.

- Upon leaving the library, make sure that it is the same way you found it (tables clean, chairs pushed in and all materials put away)

* Core collection for all reading book system

The library consists of a collection of books, audio books, DVDs, videos, CDROMs, a reference section, a collection of magazines and journals. One of the school's three computer labs is located inside the library. The collection of books is called Core Collection which contains all or most of the following categories of stock, depending upon the age of students and the interesting field of all readers.

The Core Collection includes: 

Junior Fiction books are stories told using text and pictures that are suitable for young and older children (0-12 years of age). Concept, novelty and wordless picture books are purchased as part of the picture book collection. These are arranged on the shelves alphabetically by authors' surname.

Children Fiction books are suitable for children from Gr. 2 through to Gr. 7 who can read fluently the long story and the chapter books. Fiction books are  shelved alphabetically by author's surname.

Young Adult Fiction collection is aimed at 13-25 year olds. The collection reflects contemporary reading options for teenagers, including popular television tie-ins and teenage fiction series. Young Adult Fiction books are shelved alphabetically by author's surname by might be intershelved with fiction.

Non-fiction for kids books are designed to help readers learn more about real things at an easier level than non-fiction books. These books are shelved according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System. They are marked NFK.
